The fire started around 3:00 PM, prompting the deployment of two units from the Madrid City Council Firefighters. Rescuers worked to extinguish the blaze and save the occupant, whom they found unconscious and in cardiorespiratory arrest in one of the rooms.
Samur-Civil Protection paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers, successfully reversing the arrest. After stabilizing the patient, he was transported in critical condition to the 12 de Octubre Hospital, according to information from Madrid Emergencies.
The fire primarily affected the kitchen, although smoke filled the entire dwelling, complicating the firefighters' efforts. No other homes in the building were reported as affected.
A Samur-PC psychologist provided support to the victim's family. The Municipal Police cordoned off the street to facilitate the work of emergency services and escorted the medical convoy to expedite their arrival at the hospital.
