A 51-year-old man is hospitalized in very serious condition after suffering severe intoxication and smoke inhalation during a fire in his home in the Carabanchel district of Madrid.

A 51-year-old man has been transferred to the 12 de Octubre University Hospital in very serious condition after suffering severe intoxication and smoke inhalation in a fire that occurred in his home. The incident took place on Salvador Alonso street, in the Madrid district of Carabanchel, on Saturday afternoon.
The capital's emergency services intervened rapidly to stabilize the victim. Madrid City Council Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they located the source of the fire in the kitchen. The dwelling was completely filled with dense smoke, which hindered firefighting efforts.

"After several minutes of intervention, the SAMUR-Civil Protection team managed to reverse the arrest and restore the patient's pulse."

Firefighters found the tenant unconscious and evacuated him outside. SAMUR-Civil Protection medical personnel confirmed he was suffering from cardiac arrest due to smoke inhalation and performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers. Once his pulse was restored and he was stabilized, he was transported by an intensive care ambulance to the 12 de Octubre University Hospital.
To facilitate the urgent transfer, patrols from the Madrid Municipal Police escorted the medical convoy. Officers also closed the affected street to secure the area and allow for ventilation and firefighting operations.
