Worker Dies After Falling 30 Meters at Madrid's Movistar Arena

The 50-year-old employee fell while working on the arena's roof; three colleagues received psychological support for anxiety attacks.

A 50-year-old worker died this Wednesday after falling from a height of 30 meters at Madrid's Movistar Arena, while working on the pavilion's roof.

A 50-year-old operator died this Wednesday after falling from a height of 30 meters at the Movistar Arena, located in Madrid's Plaza de Felipe II. The workplace accident occurred around 2:30 PM while the man was working on the pavilion's roof.
SUMMA medical services were dispatched to the scene and, after confirming the worker was in cardiorespiratory arrest, attempted resuscitation for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, they could only confirm his death.
As a consequence of the incident, three of the deceased's colleagues had to be attended by a SUMMA psychologist after suffering anxiety attacks.
Madrid City Council Firefighters and officers from the Madrid Municipal Police also attended the accident site. The police have begun an investigation to clarify the causes of the incident.
