The facilities, which began operations in February 2001 and are located next to the Madrid 112 Emergency Center, hosted a special celebration. The Community of Madrid organized an event to honor the individuals and organizations that have contributed to its functioning over the past two and a half decades.
The festive day featured various recreational and cultural activities. Attendees enjoyed exhibitions of historical materials, uniforms, and vehicles from the fire brigade, as well as children's attractions, puppet shows, and a concert that enlivened the celebration.
One of the highlights was the unveiling of an urban art mural adorning two facades of the training tower. The artwork, created by artist Sfhir, depicts the teamwork of regional firefighters on one facade and a firefighter in action with a hose on the other, recognizable symbols of the emergency service.
The mural created by Sfhir at the Pozuelo station aims to symbolize teamwork and the essential work of firefighters.
Artist Sfhir had previously decorated the Alcalá de Henares Fire Station for its 50th anniversary, a work that received international recognition. Over the past year, the Pozuelo de Alarcón Fire Station responded to 787 incidents. In addition to serving the municipality, its personnel also provide services in nearby towns such as Majadahonda and Boadilla del Monte, and support nearby infrastructure in Las Rozas de Madrid and Villaviciosa de Odón.
