The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) has published its latest statistics for the Minimum Vital Income (IMV), which in July reached 72,583 households in the Community of Madrid, with a total of 218,584 beneficiaries. This figure represents an increase of 1,485 households compared to the previous month.
The statistics show a 2.04% increase in the number of Madrid households receiving this aid compared to June, and a 2.2% increase in beneficiaries, who have grown by 5,084 people. In the year-on-year comparison, the number of beneficiaries rises to 223,668, an increase of 36,282 people (16.22%) compared to June 2025.
Child protection remains a central pillar of the IMV. In July, the number of households with child beneficiaries increased by 3.6%, from 48,107 to 49,935 households, meaning 1,828 more households with children. Of all households with minors, 18.67% are single-parent, almost nine points less than in June. Currently, 95,057 children and adolescents in the region are beneficiaries, representing 42.49% of the total.
Single-parent households represent over 18% of households with children. Households with the Complement for Child Protection (CAPI) make up 46.69%, with a ratio of 3.69 beneficiaries per benefit. The IMV maintains a female character, with 54.12% (121,058) of beneficiaries and 69.41% (50,380) of titular recipients being women, an increase of 2,518 female beneficiaries compared to the previous month.
Regarding nationality, 15,456 IMV titular recipients are from other countries, representing 21.29% of the total. This figure has increased by 267 people compared to last month. Year-on-year, foreign titular recipients have increased by 1,933.
This month's payroll amounts to 43,999,187.65 euros, an annual increase of 3,629,509.37 euros. The majority of titular recipients are concentrated between 36 and 55 years old: 34.53% are between 36 and 45 years old, and 29.61% are between 46 and 55 years old, with both groups accounting for 64.14%.
The average benefit amount in the Community of Madrid stood at 571.78 euros in June, a slight decrease from 577.09 euros in May. Nationally, the average pension is 504.53 euros. The monthly amount per beneficiary in Madrid is 185.55 euros, down from 187.11 euros in May and 198.5 euros the previous month.
Nationally, the IMV reached 879,225 households and 2,682,646 people in July. The national average benefit is 504.5 euros per household, and the total payroll amounted to 473.3 million euros. There are 126,756 more active benefits than a year ago (a 16.9% increase).
The profile of IMV titular recipients and beneficiaries is predominantly female: in July, 68% of titular recipients (598,302) and 53.4% of beneficiaries (1,433,576) are women.
More than two-thirds of families receiving the IMV have children (602,620 households, nearly 70%), highlighting its direct impact on reducing child poverty. Since 2020, over 1.6 million minors have been covered by this benefit.
