The event, starting at 11:00 AM, will present the latest data on this trend, including the situation in Spain, and explore potential causes. It will also detail current research methodologies aimed at understanding and curbing this rise.
The conference will facilitate direct interaction between attendees and experts. Speakers include Núria Malats, head of the Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology Group at the CNIO and an international leader in cancer genetic and environmental factors research; María José Sánchez, former scientific director of the Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada and current Director General of Research, Innovation, and Training for the Regional Government of Andalusia, who has studied incidence data in Spain; and Marcos Díaz-Gay, head of Digital Genomics at the CNIO and co-author of a study suggesting a bacterium as a potential cause of colon cancer in young people.
Following their presentations, a panel discussion will feature Marta Ortiz, deputy director of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCiii), and Montserrat Jiménez, known as an 'Amiga del CNIO' (Friend of CNIO).
