In February 2025, the court ruled that displaying these symbols was not an institutional decision by the City Council, but an autonomous action by political groups within their assigned spaces, which did not violate the principle of administrative impartiality.
Meanwhile, the socialist group has launched a campaign across the city's 21 districts using artificial intelligence images to visualize facades decorated with the collective's colors. The socialist spokesperson has criticized the refusal of the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, to display the rainbow flag at the official Palacio de Cibeles headquarters.
