The course, titled 'Prevent to Decide', aims to equip monitors, educators, and professionals working with young people with rigorous tools based on truthful information to address this complex reality. It will cover risk and protection factors, detection of problematic consumption, and the design of preventive actions.
The training will focus on fostering responsible decision-making in contexts of educational leisure, non-formal education, and youth intervention. Contents include the analysis of substance types, primary and secondary prevention strategies, education for decision-making, and promotion of healthy habits.
The methodology will be active and participatory, combining case analysis, reflection dynamics, and collaborative work. The course will be taught in person at the Espacio Joven 14-30, with a total duration of 24 hours spread over six sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from November 10 to 26, 2026.
The target audience includes leisure and free-time monitors, socio-cultural animators, educators, youth technicians, and staff working with young people. It is also aimed at individuals linked to youth associations and social entities.
The selection of participants, who must be between 18 and 35 years old and involved in youth work, will be made from the applications received. The suitability of the profile and experience in the youth and prevention field will be prioritized.
The training will be led by Rocío Rísquez Delgado, a graduate in Social and Labor Pedagogy and a university expert in Drug Dependency Prevention, with extensive experience in addiction prevention programs.
