The registration period for a course designed to teach how to support young people with special needs in leisure and free time activities will soon open. The aim is to promote their participation, well-being, and group inclusion.
Strategies for adapting activities, managing complex situations, understanding different support needs, and generating more inclusive, accessible, and meaningful leisure proposals will be addressed. The course will take place from November 4 to 25, 2026, on Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, with a total duration of 16 hours.
The training, which is in-person and will be held at the Espacio Joven 14-30, seeks to provide practical tools for monitors, educators, and facilitators to address the diversity of needs present in youth groups, such as ADHD, behavioral disorders, or disabilities.
The methodology will be active, participatory, and experiential, combining real-life situation analysis, experiential dynamics, simulations, and collaborative work. The focus will be on strategies applicable to the daily reality of educational leisure.
The course is aimed at leisure and free time monitors, youth workers, coordinators, educators, youth technicians, and municipal staff, as well as individuals interested in inclusive leisure and youth diversity. Selection criteria will include age (between 18 and 35 years old), profile suitability, connection to youth work, and experience or interest in supporting young people with special needs.
Mayssa Tasaky Diniz, a social professional with a background in Social Work and Social Integration and experience with the Community of Madrid's Ministry and Down España, will lead the training.
