The Madrid Cercanías network will implement significant service modifications during the weekends of June 13-14 and 20-21, including the closure of Sol station and changes to the C-5 line.

The Sol station will be closed on the weekends of June 13-14 and June 20-21 for tunnel improvement works. This intervention will require trains on the C-3 line from Aranjuez to terminate at Atocha station.
Additionally, the C-4 line will experience alterations: trains originating from Colmenar Viejo and Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes will end their service at Nuevos Ministerios, while services coming from Parla will conclude at Atocha.
For travelers needing to commute between Nuevos Ministerios and Atocha, it is recommended to use lines C-2, C-7, C-8, and C-10, which run through the Recoletos tunnel and stop at that station.
Trains on the C-5 line will start and end their routes at Atocha. These changes are a result of works being carried out by Adif to increase the capacity of the Atocha station, benefiting lines C-3, C-4, and C-5. Passengers wishing to continue their journey beyond Atocha will need to transfer at that station.
These works, aimed at improving the capacity of the lines passing through the Sol tunnel, are part of a larger plan to optimize the C-5 line. The Madrid Cercanías network is informing passengers about these modifications through announcements on trains and at stations, signage, social media, and WhatsApp.
