Correos has introduced a new feature enabling pilgrims from the Community of Madrid to book the return shipment of their bicycles online after completing the Camino de Santiago, simplifying travel logistics.

This enhancement to the Paq Bicicleta service, previously only available in person at offices, now allows pilgrims to organize everything before starting the Jacobean Route. This eliminates concerns about transporting their bicycles home after finishing the journey.
The initiative is particularly significant for the Community of Madrid, which has solidified its position as the second autonomous community with the highest number of pilgrims nationwide. According to data from the Pilgrim Welcome Office, in 2025 over 40,600 individuals from the region participated in the Camino de Santiago, marking a 9% increase compared to the previous year.
The online booking process involves a simple form where pilgrims specify the desired shipping date from Correos' main office in Santiago (near the Cathedral), the number of bicycles, and the destination postal office. Additionally, Correos will provide larger boxes (170 cm long, 30 cm wide, and 90 cm high) to facilitate packing with minimal disassembly.
The service includes basic insurance of 300 euros, extendable as needed, and a tracking number to locate the bicycle at all times. Shipments can be made every day of the week, including holidays, from 08:30 to 20:30. This service complements other logistical options offered by Correos for the Camino de Santiago, such as the Paq Mochila and Paq Peregrino, as well as luggage storage in Santiago de Compostela.
