The initial deliveries have taken place in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, and will extend in the coming days to other municipalities in the affected area. The objective is to mitigate the consequences of the fires on the region's wildlife.
The regional government is distributing a total of over 80,000 kilos of alfalfa in bulk and 5,000 in cubes, 38,000 kilos of corn, and 10,000 of oats. The water supply will be deposited in troughs and drinking fountains set up for this purpose.
Technicians from the Directorate General of Biodiversity and Forest Management of the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Interior are coordinating this initiative. They are collaborating with hunting associations, local businesses, and residents of the affected towns, who provide their knowledge of the terrain and logistical support.
Additionally, the Center for the Recovery of Wild Animals (CRAS) Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente is prepared to attend to any animal requiring veterinary care. At this facility, complete check-ups, diagnoses, and treatments will be performed to ensure their prompt recovery and return to their natural habitat.
