The Madrid Booksellers Association has announced the end of the leadership tenure at the Madrid Book Fair, concluding a period that began in 2022 after five editions.

The organizing entity expressed gratitude for the work carried out during this time, highlighting significant progress in sustainability and the enhancement of the event's cultural programming. According to the official statement, the decision aims to address a new phase in the evolution of this cultural gathering.
The president of the Madrid Booksellers Association, Luis M. Tigeras, noted that the current goal is to consolidate the fair as a reference point for readers, authors, and publishers. This renewal process is part of the preparations for the association's 50th anniversary, which will be commemorated in 2027.
The 85th edition of the event recently concluded with a turnover of 9,862,888 euros and the sale of 587,014 books. The organization attributed the slight decline in figures compared to the previous year to external factors such as adverse weather conditions and the coincidence with other major events in the capital.
