Mayor Alejandro Navarro Prieto has encouraged the residents of Torrejón de Ardoz to actively participate in the development of the 2027 Municipal Budgets through the Participatory Budgets initiative. The deadline for submitting suggestions is from October 1 to October 15, 2026.
Proposals can be made in two ways: through a form available on the official City Council website (www.ayto-torrejon.es) or in person at the council's Central Registry, located at Plaza Mayor 1. The mayor emphasized the importance of citizen collaboration, stating that "they are the ones who best know the needs or problems of our city."
Navarro Prieto highlighted that this initiative reinforces the City Council's commitment to transparency in management. He recalled that, for the fifth consecutive year, the council has obtained the Infoparticipa Seal, awarded by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, recognizing Torrejón de Ardoz as one of the most transparent city councils in Spain.
The mayor also mentioned that, although certain large-scale infrastructures do not directly depend on the City Council, the local government team will be responsible for demanding their execution from the relevant higher administrations, always prioritizing the well-being of the residents of Torrejón.
In the previous edition of the Participatory Budgets, 1,616 proposals were received, with online participation being the preferred method for 99.5% of citizens and entities.
