The month of October in San Fernando de Henares will be filled with cultural and leisure activities with the presentation of ‘Vive Sanfer’, the municipal program encompassing theater, dance, live music, exhibitions, family-friendly events, and youth activities. The calendar aims to offer options for diverse audiences and revitalize the city's public spaces.
Among the highlighted events are the XXXI Functional Diversity Workshops, under the slogan ‘Advancing in Rights: 20th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’, which will combine meetings and activities, including a recreational day on October 17th in the Plaza de España. The II Hop Fair will also return from October 23rd to 25th, featuring beer, food trucks, and music.
The Federico García Lorca Theater opens its new season with productions such as ‘On Time’, an accessible contemporary dance performance on October 17th, and ‘Invisible’, based on the novel by Eloy Moreno, which addresses school bullying and will be presented on October 25th. The family program includes ‘La niña de la jungla’ on October 18th.
The initiative ‘Autumn between Music and Trees’ will bring live concerts to the Paseo de los Chopos on Sunday, October 18th, combining culture and nature. The month will conclude with the celebration of ‘Halloween en Sanfer’ on October 31st in the Plaza de España, featuring a terror parade, a fear-themed gymkhana, and a DJ.
Exhibitions complement the cultural offerings. ‘Precine’, an educational journey through the inventions preceding the cinematograph, can be visited from October 1st to 18th. At the Gabriel Celaya Cultural Center, ‘La espuma del tiempo’ by Conchita de Moya will be presented from October 13th to 29th. The Rafael Alberti Municipal Library will also host its own program.
