More than one hundred schoolchildren in Torrejón de Ardoz have participated in healthy eating workshops, organized by the City Council and the NGO La Pandi, to promote healthy habits from childhood.

The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council, in collaboration with the NGO La Pandi, has conducted a series of workshops focused on healthy eating for primary education students from various schools in the municipality. In this first edition, over one hundred schoolchildren from the public schools Miguel Hernández, Ramón Carande, and Ramón y Cajal, specifically from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade, have been the participants.
The sessions, held during May and June, are part of the municipal strategy for promoting public health in schools. The training was delivered by Beatriz Hernández, a dietitian-nutritionist and member of La Pandi, who guided the students through a participatory and dynamic methodology.
The workshops aim for students to identify different food groups, recognize healthier options, and learn to combine them to create balanced meals. The main objective is to encourage the consumption of fruits and vegetables and establish beneficial eating habits from an early age, as reported by the City Council.
Each workshop, lasting approximately one hour, adapts its content to the participants' age to facilitate learning and the adoption of long-term healthy habits. The City Council emphasizes its commitment to children's education and health, promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing problems arising from inadequate nutrition.

"Consolidate healthy habits that positively impact the present and future well-being of the child population."
