Thousands welcome Alcalá's 2026 Fairs and Festivals with music

Loquillo and Efecto Pasillo led the first day of concerts at Huerta del Obispo and Plaza de Cervantes, drawing thousands of attendees.

The Fairs and Festivals of Alcalá de Henares began with a large turnout, with attendees enjoying performances by Loquillo and Efecto Pasillo at the Huerta del Obispo and Plaza de Cervantes, respectively.

The opening day of the festivities saw a significant attendance, bringing together thousands of locals and visitors. Loquillo, as part of the Conciertos de la Muralla cycle at the Huerta del Obispo, and Efecto Pasillo, performing in the Plaza de Cervantes, delivered shows that marked the start of the celebrations.
The musical program will continue in the coming days. The Huerta del Obispo will host a tribute to Estopa, El Canto del Loco, Pereza, and Leiva on August 27th. On August 28th, Muralla Camp will feature Fangoria, Chenoa, and Nancys Rubias, among others. Singer Vanesa Martín will conclude the concert series at this venue on August 29th.
Meanwhile, the Plaza de Cervantes will offer nightly dances accompanied by orchestras. On August 23rd, 24th, and 25th, as well as the 27th, there will be dance sessions for seniors at 9:00 PM, followed by an orchestra at 10:30 PM. On Wednesday the 26th, in addition to senior dancing, a tribute to Camela will be presented. On Friday, a tribute to Estopa will take place, and on Saturday, singer Rosa López will close the music concerts in this square.
The Banda Sinfónica Complutense will perform on Friday, August 28th, and the Tuna de la Universidad de Alcalá will perform on Saturday, August 29th, both in the Plaza de Cervantes.
At the Parque de Sementales, following last year's positive reception, a music cycle featuring local artists will be held. On Sunday, August 23rd, the Agrupación de Zarzuela Alcalá de Henares will present ‘Zarzuela y más’. On Monday the 24th, Juanjo Espinosa will offer ‘Generación Milenial’, a tribute to the 2000s. On Tuesday the 25th, Manuel Alejandro will pay tribute to Nino Bravo with ‘Vuelve’. On Wednesday the 26th, Diego Larrea will perform ‘Despierta’. On Thursday the 27th, local artist Sonia Andrade will present her show “Así canto yo”. On Friday the 28th, Patricia Velasco will perform “Noches de Copla”. The cycle will conclude on Saturday with two performances: The Fábula, a group formed by Carlitos Chacal, Lito Castillo, and Luisvi Saldaña, will present pop covers, and Formula Pop will provide the grand finale.
