The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has tendered for €4.62 million the drafting of projects to improve the A-3 between Rivas Vaciamadrid and Arganda del Rey, with a total investment of €122 million.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has taken a crucial step towards improving road infrastructure in the Community of Madrid. A contract worth €4.62 million (VAT included) has been tendered for the drafting of layout and construction projects aimed at enhancing the functionality, mobility, and road safety on a key section of the A-3 highway.
The intervention will focus on the segment of the highway between kilometers 14.8 and 26.3, covering the area between Rivas Vaciamadrid and Arganda del Rey. This initiative is part of a broader preliminary project for the adaptation, renovation, and conservation of the A-3 in the region, extending from the M-30 ring road to the provincial border of Cuenca.
The planned works, spanning 11.5 kilometers, have an estimated budget of €122 million (VAT included). This marks the fourth intervention included within the preliminary project, which was approved on February 18th after completing the public information phase and was subsequently published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on March 19th.
Among the proposed improvements are the rectification of the highway's alignment and elevation, the extension of existing lanes, platform widening, and the creation of new weaving lanes. The primary goal is to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion issues.
Furthermore, enhancements are planned for the exit towards Rivas at the Rivas Oeste interchange by widening the radius. Modifications will also be made to service roads, and access to Calle Cisne, located at kilometer 20.75, will be reorganized to optimize local connectivity.
