The Local Government Board has greenlit a new intervention on Camino de los Afligidos, which will cover approximately 675 meters of roadway and an area of about 5,000 square meters. The primary objective is to repair the deteriorated pavement and renew the surface asphalt layer.
The work will focus on the section between number 1 of the road, adjacent to a recently paved area, and Calle Ceuta. The intervention will include repainting road markings and renewing horizontal signage.
In addition to the road surface renewal, the project includes improvements to sidewalks, such as reconfiguring tree pits and nearby paving. New speed bumps will also be installed to moderate vehicle traffic and enhance road safety.
This intervention marks the second significant action on Camino de los Afligidos during the current legislative term. In 2024, over €250,000 from the Regional Investment Plan of the Community of Madrid were allocated to the reform and expansion of another section, which involved replacing the old asphalt with concrete pavers.
With this new investment, the City Council continues the progressive improvement of this communication axis, now addressing the 675 meters that show the most significant deterioration.
