The program's main objective is to raise student awareness about the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation. The activities are designed to be adapted to different ages and educational stages, ranging from Early Childhood Education to Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training Cycles.
The program combines various methodologies such as practical workshops, educational games, participatory dynamics, theatrical performances, research activities, and environmental routes. Topics covered include recycling and the circular economy, biodiversity, pet care, sustainable mobility, responsible consumption, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and knowledge of the specific natural environment of Alcalá de Henares.
Educational centers interested in participating can request activities by emailing Environmental Education at mambiente-educacion@ayto-alcaladehenares.es. The request must specify the chosen activity, the grade level, the number of participating classrooms, the contact person, and a phone number.
Additionally, the Department of Environment and Street Cleaning makes direct contact with the Environmental Education area available to educational centers for any needs or initiatives they wish to implement.
Through this free initiative, the City Council of Alcalá de Henares reaffirms its commitment to bringing environmental education into classrooms, providing students with the necessary tools to understand, value, and actively contribute to environmental conservation and the development of more sustainable habits.
