The Local Government Board of Alcalá de Henares has approved the project for comprehensive action on Pedro del Campo street, in the Chorrillo neighborhood, with an investment exceeding 200,000 euros.

The project, part of the Alcalá Plan improves its neighborhoods, includes the reordering of mobility in this area near the Paseo de los Pinos. The intervention will cover both the roadway and the side sidewalks, including intersections and pedestrian crossings.
The Councilor for Works and Urban Maintenance, Antonio Saldaña, explained that the works consist of the "comprehensive renovation of the roadway and sidewalks, with the aim of improving the functionality, accessibility, safety, urban image, and sustainability of public space".
Currently, the street shows significant deterioration in its urban and functional conditions. Sidewalks are less than a meter wide in some sections, the asphalt is deteriorated with numerous cracks, parking areas lack a defined pattern, and disabled parking spots are poorly located.
The proposal includes widening sidewalks in narrow sections and installing tactile paving at intersections with pedestrian crossings, complying with current accessibility regulations for visually impaired individuals.
On the roadway, milling of the pavement is planned. In severely deteriorated areas, milling and repair work will be carried out to consolidate the sub-base before the final wearing course is laid.
The project also involves the removal and subsequent replacement of urban furniture, as well as the leveling and adaptation of service covers and drains to integrate them with the new planned pavements.
Finally, road markings, parking spaces, raised pedestrian crossings, and vertical signs will be renewed.
Saldaña emphasized that "we continue working to improve the neighborhoods of Alcalá, as part of a strategy aimed at enhancing our public spaces".
