The action follows the activation of level 3 operational emergency status early this morning. The local government is working in coordination with the unified command to ensure the facilities are ready for immediate use if required.
In addition to the Espartales site, the local administration is keeping the Val pavilion in reserve, which offers similar capacity. Several school sports halls across the city have also been placed on pre-alert status to expand reception capacity if necessary.
“"Our city is prepared to respond with speed, responsibility, and solidarity to an emergency of this magnitude."
Since the level 3 status was activated, approximately twenty Civil Protection personnel from Alcalá de Henares have been mobilized. These teams remain on standby, awaiting instructions from the unified command regarding their deployment and support tasks.
